Dear Beloved Reader,
Welcome to our website! If I’m to be honest with you (and I have no reason yet to lie) I must admit that I have always been wary of the internet. Part of my wariness simply comes from my aversion to technology in general, but it’s also because of the sheer power of the thing. It is almost as if the internet is the human world compressed, categorized and fully searchable, a near universe at one’s fingertips. It’s what we have instead of oracles, sages and mystics, and everything I know tells me to approach an oracle with respect and caution, in equal amounts. It’s the place where anyone can express themselves however they like, and share it with whomever they like, or at least that is the potential of the thing.
However, the more I see of individual expression on the internet the more I’m reminded of the old grade school affirmation that each one of us is like a unique and beautiful snowflake. True it is that each person is unique in the same way that each snowflake has a unique crystalline structure, but when you have such a vast number of snowflakes gathered in a single place you see nothing of individuality. All you will see is a cold white blanket covering everything, and the longer you look the more you are at risk of freezing to death.
Perhaps you might understand now why I hesitate to land my snowflake on the drift. I have often wondered if I actually have anything new to contribute to the internet, the great oracle of our era, the collective unconscious given flesh of silicone and wire. But the only way to find out is the hard way, folks, and so we’ve made this place as our shelter against the cold.
Well Gee, that all sounds kinda pretentious, doesn’t it? Anyway, come in and enjoy a hot slice of poetry, a fresh baked short story, or some nice essays sliced thin and piled high on an onion bulkie. Because here at the Deep End Deli the analogies get stretched thin and you, dear reader, are always welcome.

Development Update

Today I have added some clipart. I have also found a logo for the Deep End Deli. Our favorite cartoon anti-hero, The Nihilist Cow. It's just a clipart image until broski gets me a real drawing. I have plenty other clipart saved to my computer as well but those are the ones I like for the different parts of the website.
Peace,
Crawdaddy
